Rain-In-The-Face
Design by @jtknoxroxs These descriptions were compiled by the NAMD Advocates to honor our ancestors and the existence of disabled people of color.
The National Alliance of Multicultural Disabled Advocates (NAMD Advocates) is an initiative of the Keri Gray Group that is led by disabled Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) organizers across the country who focus on elevating the voices of people of color with disabilities. Our work is composed of workshops, discussion sessions, and events on topics that explore culture and empower the intersections of leadership and wellness.
For the longest, disabled people of color have been dominated by our connection to the medical industry and institutions. These images and stories often evoke pity, pain, and even brutality.
