32, St. Martinville, LA

Michael had Bipolar Disorder and Paranoid Schizophrenia. He lived with his mom, who would call the police to help her when he was experiencing a schizophrenic episode. She trusted her son to police to keep him safe and instead they shot him in his home. Neighbors knew Michael as a non-violent nice person who was part of their community. Michael had three children.

Powerful black arm raised defiantly into the air, the hand curled into a fist, rising into the middle on the graphic. Designed into the arm, almost like a tattoo, is an infinity/unity symbol and the words “Black Disabled Lives Matter”.
