Age 12, Cleveland, OH.

Tamir, who was a student with emotional disabilities, loved video games, big stuffed animals, cheese pizza, and salad with only cheese and ranch dressing. On Nov. 22, 2014, Tamir was shot by two policemen, without warning, in a gazebo at the Cudell Recreation Center where he was playing with a toy gun.

Powerful black arm raised defiantly into the air, the hand curled into a fist, rising into the middle on the graphic. Designed into the arm, almost like a tattoo, is an infinity/unity symbol and the words “Black Disabled Lives Matter”.
