Traumatic events had left Tony psychologically scarred. He was prescribed medications and had spent time in Apalachee center’s crisis stabilization unit. On May 27, 2020, after 11 a.m., Tony McDade who was transgender, was fatally shot in an apartment complex by an officer of Tallahassee Police Department.

Powerful black arm raised defiantly into the air, the hand curled into a fist, rising into the middle on the graphic. Designed into the arm, almost like a tattoo, is an infinity/unity symbol and the words “Black Disabled Lives Matter”.
